Women of Color

 

Our breast surgery group has had the opportunity to perform a relatively large number of reconstructions for women of color. For these women special consideration relative to matching skin tone and scarring must be considered. Traditionally women of color have declined reconstruction following mastectomy. This is unfortunate as one can see on review of the postoperative photographs very acceptable results are possible for these women. If you are a woman of color considering breast reconstruction, we hope these photographs provide some encouragement to you.
